Last month I finished my last wedding of 2018! Now this on its own is a huge, personal, accomplishment for me. I went from thinking I would do a few friends-of-friends weddings, to booking SEVEN weddings in FIVE months.
Kassie inquired over facebook and we did all of our communication via email. I didn’t actually meet her, or Oren, until the actual wedding day! I’m grateful that I was trusted to ensure they were well taken care of.
The highlight of my day was watching their ceremony; I’ve always watched the Bride (I typically am stationed on that side) but this time I got to watch the grooms’ expression. Kassie definitely found her soulmate; the way Oren looked at her, melted my heart, they are meant for each other. Kassie’s sister was the officiant which made the ceremony a bit more personal and special.
They had their ceremony and reception out of the Mirage Banquet Hall A. this was my first time at this venue and I was blown away with what it looked like inside. Absolutely gorgeous. The catering was delicious. The service staff was friendly. The bartenders were so full of personality.
My favorite touch of the reception; Kassie + Oren’s memorial table. Instead of having one off to the side, they requested an empty dinner table. Gold sequenced tablecloth, gold charger plates and photos on each of the settings, of those they wanted to remember. It was such a nice touch. I watched as family and friends walked around the table and honored those no longer with them.
Instead of a traditional cake, they opted for donuts. Firstly, my weakness just happens to be a delicious glazed donut. Secondly, they were from the Italian Bakery. My Italian roots were screaming with excitement.
They also nailed the candy bar. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the adults. Sour candy, fortune cookies, mini chocolate bars, and candy caramels.
An interactive touch was instead of a tradition guestbook, they had guests write them a note and utilize the photobooth! It made it fun for the guests.
