Have you ever met someone who automatically had the ability to make everyone around them comfortable? That is Alysha. She has such a warm smile, genuine heart, and has a calm to her; she was so relaxed the entire day!
Alysha contacted me early 2019 for her and her fiancé Aaron, June 22nd wedding, and I was hired for the ceremony and reception coordination and timeline assistance [Wedding Day Management].
Their ceremony was held in the beautiful Hasting Lake Gardens, where I was in charge of filling seats [this where I move guests around for better photos] and playing ceremony music before, during, and after! Alysha and Aaron were very organized and had playlists ready to go. Hasting Lake Gardens have a sound system available, but you do need to put someone in charge of those timing points [arrival, walking down the aisle, grand entrance, the signing of the marriage certificate, and walking out] which is where I came in.
The reception was held at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex; I did a once over of the tables, they had set-up the night before, finished off centerpieces by lighting candles, and set up the dessert table.
During the reception, I worked with the MC’s to keep everything on schedule [their MC’s killed it], the timing of food and events. It’s so important to get those special photos in your day.
Alysha and Aaron’s friends and family were so friendly and enjoyable to be around! Alysha’s family-friend Barbara made the most amazing cherry tarts and she was the sweetest women. I loved seeing Alysha’s parents enjoying themselves and smiling the entire time.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day! You two are going to nail this marriage thing.
This past weekend I officially kicked off my 2019 wedding season!
I was hired by their MC’s as a wedding gift [how thoughtful]. Being hired by a third-party can sometimes make things a little tricky, as it adds another face into the mix [or like this time, two]. I lucked out on having such an easy-going couple and some fantastic MC’s.
Since there are so many different ideas, when it comes to what a Month-Of Planner does, I thought I would list my responsibilities this year from each of my weddings.
I got to assist Samantha in creating her timeline; distributing the timeline to her vendors; supervising her vendors during set-up; finishing off last minute set-up details; gathering individuals for speeches, and dancing; and of course, managing the 120 guests. My main goal was still to keep everything on time; vendors were doing what was needed to be done; ensuring the couple was enjoying themselves; and this time, I also needed to ensure the MC’s were fully taken care of so they could do their job as seamlessly as possible!
Thank-you Samantha + Brandon for allowing me to be part of your special day!
Last month I finished my last wedding of 2018! Now this on its own is a huge, personal, accomplishment for me. I went from thinking I would do a few friends-of-friends weddings, to booking SEVEN weddings in FIVE months.
Kassie inquired over facebook and we did all of our communication via email. I didn’t actually meet her, or Oren, until the actual wedding day! I’m grateful that I was trusted to ensure they were well taken care of.
The highlight of my day was watching their ceremony; I’ve always watched the Bride (I typically am stationed on that side) but this time I got to watch the grooms’ expression. Kassie definitely found her soulmate; the way Oren looked at her, melted my heart, they are meant for each other. Kassie’s sister was the officiant which made the ceremony a bit more personal and special.
They had their ceremony and reception out of the Mirage Banquet Hall A. this was my first time at this venue and I was blown away with what it looked like inside. Absolutely gorgeous. The catering was delicious. The service staff was friendly. The bartenders were so full of personality.
My favorite touch of the reception; Kassie + Oren’s memorial table. Instead of having one off to the side, they requested an empty dinner table. Gold sequenced tablecloth, gold charger plates and photos on each of the settings, of those they wanted to remember. It was such a nice touch. I watched as family and friends walked around the table and honored those no longer with them.
Instead of a traditional cake, they opted for donuts. Firstly, my weakness just happens to be a delicious glazed donut. Secondly, they were from the Italian Bakery. My Italian roots were screaming with excitement.
They also nailed the candy bar. I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids or the adults. Sour candy, fortune cookies, mini chocolate bars, and candy caramels.
An interactive touch was instead of a tradition guestbook, they had guests write them a note and utilize the photobooth! It made it fun for the guests.
I met Brittany & Richard through a good friend of mine, a few years ago. These two are honestly some of the most good-hearted, hilarious people I've ever met. They are [both] witty, sarcastic and loveable.
They chose a late afternoon ceremony, outdoors, with 175 of their friends and family. Luckily, the rain held off until the reception began. [Have you ever heard a thunderstorm under a party tent? because I hadn't until then]
They went very untraditional with dinner [which is my favorite] and had Nitiza's Pizza in Sherwood Park cater, it was delicious, and surprisingly hot when served. Nitiza's staff were friendly and very organized, which made my part in dinner, a lot easier.
Brittany + Richard chose their siblings to MC their wedding and it was a great choice! Richards sister definitely knew how to keep it light and funny.
This will go down as one of the best parties I've I have never seen so many people on one dance floor, & NOBODY left! It was jammed packed the entire night. I'm not sure how they had that much energy!
Their rustic-chic theme was simple, gorgeous and elegant. Plus Brittany pretty much DIY'd the entire wedding! Look at this gorgeous arch (that's some serious talent)!
Oh. The best part of the wedding? 11:30 late lunch catered by McDonalds + cheeseburgers. Can you say amazing or what?
A few weeks ago, I was able to be a part of my first wedding in 2018! [Also, my first wedding in almost 4 years!]
I cannot even begin to express how grateful I am and how excited I am to begin doing what I love again! I was given an opportunity without even realizing the motivation it was about to give me.
Samantha and Paul are the perfect examples of pure, true, love. The way they looked at each other melted my heart and the love I saw they had for each other was so refreshing. They chose the most gorgeous venue, just outside Spruce Grove and went with a rustic country theme.
Samantha and Paul shared their special day with 120 of their closest family and friends. They had a BBQ-style buffet.
The love and support they have from their friends and family were incredible to see.
They had games set-up for their guests when they arrived, which was a fun twist on the outdoor party and a scavenger hunt to keep the guests entertained and get some fun photo ops.
The vision matched so perfectly with their personalities; carefree, easy-going and full of love.
& I might have fallen in love with a couple of new country songs!
