I am the name + face behind the brand. My passion is planning + organization. I love smooth, detailed schedules, which you will learn once we start creating a timeline for your event! I am my best self in high-stress situations and thrive off being busy.
I fell in love with events in 2007 when I started my career in hospitality. I’ve worked almost every front-of-house position in the restaurant industry, and I’ve dabbled in the hotel + catering world for a couple of years. Hospitality is what led me to obtain my Special Event Management Certification in 2010.
In 2018, I launched Olivia Fata Events and in 2020 I became a Certified Wedding Planner (WPIC) through The Wedding Planners Institute of Canada. This had always been a goal of mine, so I was ecstatic when I finally achieved it. WPIC was actually the last group activity I did before COVID-19 hit.
My favorite part of a wedding is watching all the pieces come together and being able to watch the love + support surrounding a couple on their day is such an extraordinary sight to see. Plus, being able to watch all the hard work -the magic- that goes on behind-the-scenes with that vendors help create.
When I’m not working with couples on their weddings, you can find me at home with my daughter and husband [we got married a week after Edmonton went into a soft locked down in 2020]. We love travelling, going to baseball games, and family movie nights. I think it’s very important to give back to the community and currently volunteer on four boards. I love making connections, learning about people, and their walks of life, and drinking copious amounts of red wine. Oh! I also work full time and I absolutely love my career.
